For many around the country Pasadena is synonymous with the Tournament of Roses parade and football game that takes place each New Year’s Day. It is also a cultural hub to many world-renowned institutions such as Caltech, JPL, the Huntington Library Botanical Gardens and Art Collections, the Norton Simon Museum, the Pasadena Playhouse, and the Art Center College of Design, to name a few. Pasadena is the seventh largest city in Los Angeles County

Nestled at the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, Altadena mimics many of the picturesque neighborhoods of Pasadena, but with a quieter, slightly more removed and close-to-nature feel. Altadena is an unincorporated part of Los Angeles County It is common to see wildlife such as deer, coyotes, rabbits and even bears on occasion, who venture out of the nearby canyon and foothills. Altadena is starting to see more eatery and shopping options, but it is still only a short 10 minute drive to the heart of Pasadena if needed.

South Pasadena has a small town Americana feeling. It boast some gorgeous, tree-lined streets with beautiful craftsman-style bungalows and traditional style homes. Due to the quaint, family-friendly feel and the highly ranked public school system, real estate is popular and also pricey in South Pasadena. Residents enjoy amenities such as Gold Line access, regular Farmer Markets on Thursdays, community events at Garfield Park, and a recent burst of popular restaurants, shops and condos/townhomes.

La Canada Flintridge is situated between the San Gabriel Mountains and the Los Angeles National Forest. The stunning mountain landscape offers outdoor enthusiasts access to Hahamonga Watershed Park and the Angeles Crest Highway, which leads to a number of hiking/biking trails. The excellent La Canada public schools as well as being the home to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory are a big draw for many of those who put down roots in this wonderful town for schooling and job purposes.

Eagle Rock is an increasingly popular area adjacent to West Pasadena. Its booming restaurant, brewery, coffee shop scene attracts locals and people from nearby neighborhoods alike. It is the home to Occidental College.
